The Good, the Bad, and the Branded

Beauty Con grants you access to an event that feels like a dream. The convention is full of brands you love and new brands that make you wonder how you’ve been living without them. As much as I know you want to wear your best heels to strut your stuff, more comfortable shoes are more encouraged. The lines are long but worth the wait for the few samples and the many sales discounts. Walking around the Los Angeles Convention Center from August 10th to the 11th welcomes you to the biggest show for top brands in cosmetics or fashion, but also some wild-card options like CBD oils and 10 minute UV teeth whiteners. The best thing about this year’s Beauty Con is that the speakers and brands encourage the idea that they’re here to compliment your natural beauty and make you glow like the best highlight on your cheeks.

Slaying with Your Squad

Walking into Beauty Con feels like a party with everyone has the same common interests. Every way you look, everyone shows their artistic skill with their make up. No matter your gender, it was apparent that they live for this world. Something that stood out about the people walking around was the families. You’ll see every kind of parent walking with their children in-hand browsing the vendors like kids in a candy store. Are the parents dragging their kids to Beauty Con or are the kids begging their parents to go? The answer is simple. Everyone at Beauty Con genuinely wants to be there – and it shows. Both kids and parents become a team in the convention center like a family who has an unlimited gift card to Target.

SoCal Moments joined the action and spoke to a few families about what brought them to Beauty Con and their experience:

But First, Makeup!

Whatever brand you came to see, one thing is obvious. Beauty Con is a place to be around your type of people with all of the same interests and hobbies. As one of our families said, this is a place where the culture is unmatched with only appreciation and no judgement. Check out the speakers, the photos, and the brands from this past year, so that you can plan next year’s visit – But first, makeup!
